HID 6k fog lights installed

I figure all 6k's SHOULD look the same, might be the way the camera or even your monitor changes the color. It is a blue/purple when first turned on, but then settles on a white with a bluish tint when running after a few minutes. I want to change my regular lights to the same color. But I can't figure on paying $200+ just to change the color. But I do need to find a level surface and adjust my lowbeams.
btw, I thought I read in another post you can adjust your fogs? when you instlled yours, did you see a way to do that?

Also, I never noticed this when I had the normal bulbs (probably because it was so dimm) but the fogs actually have a cut off line too. Which is nice. Cuts off most glare, but the reflection off the ground give you visable light infront of you. It seemed no more brighter than stock headlights when I was sitting in my wifes car infront of my car. so that's good.

so it must just be the color of the light that makes it look crisper and brighter....

Yup. Blue makes things look crisper. Not really clearer but to our eyes it makes things stand out. which is a good thing.
Last night while testing the lights, I almost didnt see a jogger wearing a dark blue jacket over his white shirt(dumb guy) but I really think I would've saw him better if the road father than 3-4 car lengths was lighted. I gotta change the angle.

you made a great choice. I have both, but the only things I like about the 550i are..... the articulated comfort 20 way seats, night vision, and how it handles....
my GS450h, I drive every day, and I am happioer with that purchase over the other one...both are great cars, but you shouldn't be sad. GS is a GREAT car....
oh, by the way, did i mention I have night viison and you don't.

EV ftw!!!
starstreak, your fogs look awesome with that slight blue tint to them. And you are right the stock HIDs (4.3K) do look a tad yellow compared to the fogs now.
On my 2nd Gen GS I did the exact same thing as you and then later swapped out the stock HIDs to 6K. Now they match better.
However on the 2nd gen GS though, something about the reflector makes the fogs look less bluish and more whitish compared to the low beams.
Here's a pic

I see what you mean. But I rather have it white than that ugly dark weak yellow color of the fogs. And I'm not talk ing about "yellow" as in yellow fog lights either.
I like your grill. very simple and clean. I think Lexus makes the "L" way to big on the front and back. Say whats are those bumps infront of the headlights? Are those the washers?

Yes those are headlight washers that are an OEM option on the GS's that are sold in Canada.
