Smile Buying Lexus at Dealer Auction?

Hey guys i have a question before i go to the dealers auction.Im gonna get a 06 Lexus GS430.I have a buddy who has a friend who has a dealer license.I was just wondering what kind of money will i save versus going to a dealer lot and purchasing one.If anyone can sort of give me an estimate of what kind of price i may find one at auction with no more than 20,000 miles on it.I was hoping maybe if i went to the dealer's auction with this guy and let him get me one i might be able to get what i want for no more than 36,000 cash. What you guys think?

i would imagine that a 3rd gen GS would be rare at a general dealer auction, but plenty would be available at a lexus dealer auction, but to buy in a lexus dealer auction you need a lexus or toyota dealer with you. you can save money if you know what you are doing, i.e can look over the vehicle to look for body damage and trouble signs. you would have to pay the dealer a little something and then tax on the sale from the dealer to you. essentially you are buying at wholesale for the most part. good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

the auction im referring to is the auction off of campbellton road.they have plenty of 06-07 vehicles so im pretty sure they would have one.what would be wholesale on a gs430 that normally goes for about $42-43,000 grand on a dealers lot.

Know the owner of a lexus dealership out in michigan.

He was able to get me a brand new 2007 GS450h for 32,000. Had to wait a while for the factory to deliver it since i had him slap every option possible on it but it was worth every damn penny.

That is the actual build cost is what my friend tells me.

I have known him for over 10 years. I guess long friendships pay off

actual build cost to toyota but how can a dealer get that? dealers pay invoice minus holdback if im not mistaken. maybe your friendship is so good and your friend so wealthy that he chipped in the difference!

ive been to the auction off cambellton, there are tons of newer vehicles but rarely will you find an LS or GS, next time you go , let me know what you find, i cant imagine them having more than 3 3rd gen GSes if that

This is just laughable, $38k for 2007 GS450h with every option?!? The MSRP of fully loaded GS450h is $68k. Are you saying you got $30,000 off MSRP price? It doesn't matter what is the build cost, that it how much it cost for a Lexus as a Company to build a car (material, labor, other overhead). Doesn't matter if you friend owns the dealership, he has to buy the car from Lexus to sell it in his dealership. Maybe you are forgetting about $20k trade-in you had with that deal?

Default I'm New Here

Hi, this is the first post I've read on this forum because I could either be an owner of a '07 IS350 or '06 GS430 soon. I'd just like to say hi to everyone and comment on this post of $38k for '07GS450h fully loaded.

"I CALL B.S." -Either your dealership friend helped you out by paying for part of the vehicle, or you did not get a fully loaded brand new 450h for under 40k!

welcome, xinlee, any reason why you plan to buy 06 430 over a 07 350?

nautical, i think the answer is pretty simple.....depriciation .....06 GS430 at dealer auctions can be found for upper 30s, just as the 06 GS300s can be found for lower 30s....these cars tooks a huge hit (as many luxuries do) and you simply cant get an 07 that cheap.
