Sounds right. my neighbor has a BMW 650 that gets 19/26 MPG. That is good mileage for a high performance car and a 360HP V8.

It seems the V8's have really improved over the years where the smaller engines have not. So for me it makes sense to shy away from small cars unless the mileage is 35-50MPG real world.
