so the NAV hack that you do with the wires, is the same as the button push hack for the 5.1 ver? without having to push... this is just available at all times?
oh and Robert, head over my way in CO, to do the hack for me. Just to nerverous to attempt, and I would rather it done shrink wrapped and all.
Let me know when you're heading to do this as a favor to me.
Thanks.

the push button software hack must be done each time you want to do this. the switch allows you to do it be flipping the switch on and off.

The first time, it took me about 30-40 minutes because I soldered everything and I had to figure out how long I wanted my wires to make the whole module easily to remove and install but look neat at the same time. The last time I took it apart to put the Vaistech module in, I really went all out and made it look like it was done at the factory by running all of my wires in appropriate length shrink wrap and wrapping the ends with the same sticky mesh fabric tape that the factory uses. That probably took me 20 mins by itself. I guess the answer to your question is. 20-30 minutes to do a hack job, 60+ min to do a nice perfect job.

hey snoopy? can you post me a pic of your switch? for turning on and off. I'd like to see up close where you did it.
thanks.
I'm just nervous, b/c I don't want to get it apart, then mess something up..... then not having it work like original or at all. bah
maybe it's easier than I am thinking it to be and I should just attempt. I can probably do it no problem, just not knowing... is well...... bah.
we'll see.
Is it worth doing just the DVD hack?
without the bluetooth and/or the NAV hack?
or will I regret not doing those two then have to do it later.... (if I even attempt it. )
thanks.

I think i'm going to be trading in my ES350 for GS (hopefully get a good price on the 450h, otherwise 350) soon. I am also wonering about the Nav Hack. There are some really good pictures on the ES forum, I'm wondering if it will be the same? Also my biggest concern is does this mod void the warrantee. When I had my nav unit replaced in my ES (for climate commands), my invoice claimed the replacement cost was 10K!
