Default ML audio-static on radio or system?

I'm not sure. But it seems I have static on the radio that I swear never had static on either the '04 Sienna and '00 Maxima. Is the radio wear? Anybody notice a difference? Also, you can hear the buzz from the HID lights (yes, I tested it with my HID fogs turned off. ) on the radio. Can you?

I can't comment on the radio static. I hear the "regular" static if the signal from the radio station is poor. I haven't tested the HID buzz via the radio. I certainly can confirm that I do hear the buzz when I get out of the car and the HIDs are still on.

Anybody? Before I have the car checked. Btw, the new HID fogs add more static. When I turn it off, about 50% of the static sound goes away. When I turn off the regular HID lights another 30% goes away. So about 20% statis is still there. Keep in mind, 100% is not 100% static, but 100% of the static that I hear. Its not bad, but driving at night, you can hear Shhhhhhhhhhhh when you turn the car just a little to the "wrong way" Don't have that issue with the sienna (But then again, it has dual attennas) and neither did the Maxima which had the same rear class attenna.

I suppose the hum from the HID's might be heard over the speakers when the HID's are on......
Not sure. I have never heard anything in mine, and I have 4 HID powered lights and no engine noise.
just stating what I know....

I should get mine checked. I'm guessing if the fogs needed to be grounded then its a bad ground. Its weird it would cause static, not a whine like an altinator noise.

I heard what you are referring to once when I had one of the opod cigarette lighter adapters, that plays over an unused radio station. I always heard a hum, and more of a hum when I accelerated, but I don't use it anymore.. Just stating that b/c I know the sound you are referring to. I don't hear anything though now with just the car or the HID's....
good luck.
