Default Lexus GS350 sales of Jan 2007?

Does anyone know how many GS350 were sold this Jan 2007? I am just curious as compared to the highly selling BMW 5 series and Merc E class. As a young man like myself, The GS is one pure luxury/sports sedan and its so underrated in my opinion and deserves to be more noticed. I dunno why they are selling slowly now. I love the way the GS drives compared to my IS loaner, the Infiniti G35 and Audi A8l. Its a great car with best of both worlds and in pampers me while not sacrificing the handling too much. In my opinion the GS is the best luxury sedan out there, but thats me.

The 5 series does quite well for several reasons.

1. Attractive lease rates that are substantially lower than the GS.
2. European delivery with another 7% discount off the cost.
3. BMW CAr Club memberships provides a $1000 customer loyalty check through BMW after sale or lease.

So a lot of folks lease a new bimmer every 2-3 years for around $500 per month. Tack on free maintenance and it is very cost effective to drive a new bimmer every few years.

Plus, the 5 comes with SMG or manual tranny options which grabs all the manual tranny enthusiasts.

I agree the GS is a very nice car. I never liked the car much until the new model.

Does anyone know why the lease deals on a new GS are so uncompetitive?

Granted, I understand that Lexus uses a low residual value for the GS, but I would think Lexus would want to structure a more competitive lease program to keep up with its competition (ie, BMW, Infiniti).

But in a report these numbers are posted for GS300, not GS350. Does that mean they are comparing GS350 of Jan '07 with GS300 of Jan '06? The same with other Lexus cars, like ES350. They didn't have ES350 but rather ES330 last January. It all makes you wonder that Lexus is not trying hard to push GS as their high selling vehicle. How many threads did we have in here about GS shortages at various dealerships? Makes you wonder that Lexus limits their production number of GS models which results in these poor sales. On the other hand, look at 53% increase in their entry level ES350? Sales are huge, while the car already suffered HUNDREDS of buyback due to a faulty tranny (you can also find lots of those buybacks on eBay auto now...). Maybe this just explains a rush of a new model introduction where everybody wants to get their hands on? Look at high LS460 number as well...

Of course, if you are an optimist, you can look at this report from a positive side. 3GS is a very rare car due to limited sales, and I really enjoy seeing only a few of those in my daily commute in the area where I live surrounded by 2 huge Ray Catena Lexus dealerships. You see a TON of RX and ES, and nobody really pays attention to them anymore (well, ES350 does catches you eye). There are also a lot of Series 5 bimmers around, not a rarity anymore. But, driving GS turns a lot of heads
