Also, don't you need to know the residual in addition to the money factor to be able to determine the monthly payments?

Yes, you do need the residual. For the 450h the residual is 53% for a 36 month lease with 12K annual miles. There's a great lease calculator at http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm
My MSRP was $60K and I paid $53K. The monthly lease payment is $800. If you paid MSRP, your payment would be a bit over $1,000.

If the money factor, and more importantly, the residual value were more attractive, the lease payments would be much much better for the GS. I remember a friend of mine leasing a GX back in Dec-to-Remember '05 with a sticker of $56k for the high $500s/low $600s. The residual was pretty good, and the money factor was ridiculously low, as in .0009 or something to that effect. In her case, leasing was an easy choice.

Yes, the thing is that if you borrow $50k for 60 months at 7%, it will cost you $990 a month, making leasing less attractive than purchasing (for the average person) in the case of the GS. This, of course, does not take into consideration tax benefits for people who own their businesses, people who change cars regularly, etc.

Granted, I dont think I can get into a GS350 for my current monthly payment, but I am hoping to stay in the ballpark.
