07 350 AWD lease - Good/Bad?

I waited and bought a slightly used 06' for 38k ! I hate the idea of driving off the lot and losing money immediatley.

Sales Tax Rules on Leases

I think I understand the CA sales tax rules on leases. You pay the sales tax (8.25% in my area) on the purchase price MINUS the residual. And then if you decide to buy the car in the end, that is when you pay the sales tax on the residual.

Am I right?
