seatbelt lockup whenever I put it on.
Ok, not every time, but 1 out of every 4 times I get into my car and grab the seatbelt, its locked. I have to fiddle with it for a bit before I can get it to unlock. Anybody else have this issue?

Yes. I had the problem. There is a recall for early 2006 made cars. Mine feel within this and they new seatbelts work much better. Most of the time mine would not retract.
See this recall to see if your VIN is in range. You should of received written notification if your car was in the VIN range.

Hope this helps

i'll check it. it retracts ok, just that when I get in and grab it, its locked up. I litterally have to make it as retracted as possible before it unlocks. kinda like if I pulled the belt completly and it was gear locking.
Btw, sounds like my issue. BUT mine is a 2007 GS350

I had that problem with my '06 GS300 AWD. Every couple of days the seatbelt just locked and i couldn't put it on. On a few occasions my steering wheel also would not rise up into position after starting the car. I had numerous other problems and they ended up replacing my ECU. So far the seat belt and steering wheel problems are gone, but I'm still having the issue w/the engine running rich. I got a Lexus to avoid this kind of stuff...

Early on my GS300's driver side seatbelt locked up frequently while extending it. Several months ago I asked the dealer to take a look at it and they didn't find anything wrong with it. But ever since then I haven't noticed it locking up and totally forgot about it until I read your post. I have no idea why the seatbelt is OK now.

DaveJ- So seriously, Do you think they did something?
Hey, anybody notice this material "filling" the right side of the drivers seat?where the seat mets the center console? Why is it there? Its attached to the chair. Is it to stop stuff from falling?

Yes, the little filler is to catch stuff dropped between the seat and console.
