Default XM Install in '07 GS

In case anyone is thinking about getting an '07 GS w/ the XM package or installing it yourself in their '07 GS by all means DIY! The install is one of the easiest I've ever done - super easy and only requires access in trunk. I put mine in last weekend in about 1.5 hrs - taking my good ole time.

Got parts from Sewell for $270 (using CL discount - thx). Local dealer wanted $486 for parts and 3 hrs labor. Total would have been about $750
Wish I would have had my extra trunk lights to mount at the same time, but that one will be easy too once I get them.

No tips needed - instructions are very clear, just take care to not break the white clip holding the right liner (as I did and the instructions also warned not to). Not really a big deal if you do, just requires a quick trip to the parts store for a $2 alternative replacement.

Besides, once XM and Sirius merge, content between them will pretty much become one in the same. Just wish the install was as easy on my GX.

Anyhow, it really could not have been an easier add on - go for it!

I'm not really following the merger because I understood it was not likely to get approval. Anyone have other thoughts?

Also, assuming the merger happens, anyone concerned about rate hike(s)?

I paid $895 to the dealer where I bought the car. They originally wanted $995. I don't mind since I got an amazing deal on the car.
