Default Bout to buy a GS350 - Is this a good deal

The deal is $618 per month for 6 years without navigation

or $590 for 7 years with navigation

10,000 down in both situations.

Yay or Nay? This is a finance of course.

I was going to get a used 06 GS but I just test drove the 07 and damn I Really want a brand new one.

Also checked out the IS250 and it really just doesnt compare. My wife loved the IS. I fealt the IS was more of a chick car. Could get a fully loaded IS350 too but I'm too into the GS right now.

Thanks all.

The worst thing you can do financially is to look at the monthly payments without the regard for how much you are paying for the car and what interest you are getting charged. First you need to negotiate the best deal you can, then separately you need to get the best financing you can find (use www.bankrate.com to find the best rates).

Also, every financial adviser opinion I've ever read suggests that getting a longer than 5 year auto loan is a bad deal. I've never even heard of seven year auto loans.

Heres what he said in the last email i just got from him after asking more questions:

The car doesn't come with the 18" rims they are an option that we don't
really get. All of the 350's come with the standard 17". The mark levinson
is also an option that we don't see much of on the 07. The price that I gave
you b4 doesn't have it. If you want the mark levinson you would be looking
at $635/month. I don't really think that it's worth the extra money each
month.
The list price on the car without the levinson is $49,361. The selling
price that we are working with is $44,410. That's $500 over the invoice
price of $43,910

Hmmm so now I can get this deal, or an 06 GS 300 with about 15K miles on it for somewhere in the high 30's and its fully loaded. The 300 is slightly slower and isnt brand new. What to do , what to do

Update: apparently it comes with bluetooth, navigation, rear backup camera, heated and ventilated seats and a rear spoiler. Unfortunatly no mark levinson and no 18" rims but i plan on buying them.

I tend to agree with this gentleman. I wouldn't do it past 5 years either. I just bought a preowned GS430 and only financing a small portion of it but I got a 4.95% interest rate through my credit union. Most other places are offering 5.24% loans.

I was looking for a lightly preowned GS430 or a new GS350...the GS350 sticker with NAV/ML pkg was $51,200 MSRP.. I called on Feb 28 to every dealer in FLorida seeing what I could get off a new one. The most I could get off MSRP on the telephone was $4100. The other problem I had was the lack of cars with the colors I wanted around Florida. I almost bought a GS430 off EBAY but found a Mercedes dealership in Atlanta that took in GS430 on a trade in...had 7300 miles total. I paid a lot less for it than the best deal I got above. You may want to look that route. Try not to get caught up in the moment or the dealer will take advantage of it...be a smart shopper.

Also, the only GS350 preown I saw in Florida already sold..but the dealer had it listed for $44800 with NAV/ML, GSpyder rims, etc...only had 4K and certified. just a thought. GOOD LUCK...

The price is ok but the deal is bad. In my opinion, if you are looking to finance for 5,6,7 years, you cannot afford the car.
If you go with the nav option for 7 years you will pay almost $60K total. The interest is $190 month for 7 YEARS.

Everyone will have a different opinion. Myself-never finance over 18months if you must finance. I prefer cash purchase. Others like to leverage their money. Still others like to call their purchase leveraging money even though they could not drop the cash. It is all over the board.
Fact is only you know what you can afford and if those numbers are good based on your credit score, lifestyle,etc.....then go for it and enjoy.
How long do intend to hold onto the car should also play into the factor. Hate to be upside down on car 4 years down the line when the excitement has wore off and the new car bug strikes again.

Thumbs down No No No, It's Bad Deal

I bought my GS350 with 18" wheels, for $43k + ttl (MSRP was about $48k).

Down payment of $10k and paying $625 per month for 5yr @ 5.5%, so you are paying too much for it.

If you are in Dallas, Texas; please call Eddie Chen @ Sewell Lexus (214) 353-2109, just let him know that Steve Lin from Baylor College of Dentistry send you.

Personally I would prefer GS350 over GS300 any time, it is much more fun with it!!!

Good Luck,
