It's time for me to replace my tires on my 06 GS 430. Should I go with the same OEM Yokohamas or another make? Any suggestions? Also, where to buy at discount? Thanks.
Bridgestone's Potenza RE050A Pole Position with UNI-T Technology Max Performance Summer tire has excellent ratings from Tire Rack (see website below). I am considering them when I change tires.

I personally have been happy with Pirelli PNero Zero M&S 245/40/18. Best tire I've had with traction in rain...never felt that hydroplane feel like I did on every other tire I owned before that. I also got 30K on my first set I had, which I thought was really good for that high performance tire. I bought my last set in October and after a $50 rebate from Discount Tire, I paid $735 total...Another reason I liked them
#2 rated tire in the High-performance All Season category on Tire Rack is Continental ContiExtremeContact. I got these a month ago and I'm very happy so far. They price was only $125 each.

Hows the road noise on these tires. I'm about to replace the stock advans, and I am looking for a quieter(sp) replacement. Also, is anyone running the previously mentioned Bridgestones? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S and put 15k miles on them. They're great all-season tires especially in the rain. Road noise is minimal and they ride smooth. Snow traction could be better, but overall wonderful tires. They look like they'll last another 10k-15k miles.

Road noise on the Conti's was originally higher than on Dunlops (that were completely silent), but has gone down a lot since I put them on about a 1,000 miles ago. Or maybe I've adjusted to the increased noise...
Just put on a set of Bridgestone Turanza EL42 on my GS430 and love them. Very quiet and smooth ride. This is my second set on this car. I got 45K miles on my first set.
I've got245/40-18 Pzero Neros on my OEM 18s too. they're allright. they are not much of a performance tire(soft sidewall) but they are pretty quiet and comfy.

, I've only got 15K miles on my car, and I'm gonna need to replace my tires at 20K miles. Not because they're bald, but they are beginning to slip more often now. I could probably make it to 25K miles, but my driving style would definitely need to tone down a bit. (Not an option for me!) I can't imagine getting 30K-45K miles on one set of tires. Are you guys truly enjoying the full potential of your vehicles? When I come up on a turn I just feel the need to accelerate. The car handles so beautifully I can't seem to help myself. Maybe I should just trade up for a GS460, then I’ll get a new set of tires!

I've NEVER gotten more than 20K miles out of high-performance all-season tires on my previous cars (three different Acura TL models). I replace my tires not when the tread is very low, but when I feel that wet performance has deteriorated significantly.
Is it possible to go wider than 245 on the stock 18" rims? If so, by how much without touching wheel well, affecting radius, etc. Also if you go wider, should you decrease profile say to 35?
