Daylight Savings Time Adjustment
When we received our GS I thought it was odd that our GS's daylight savings time adjustment was basically a manual adjustment, and confusing because it was manual. Looks like Lexus had the right idea all along, for if it were an automatic adjustment, we would have clocks that would display the incorrect time tomorrow. Of course they're still going to be wrong, but at least it's a simple single button press to go to daylight savings time.

if the daylight savings time was automatic, than it would display the correct time even though the daylight savings started earlier. At least thats the case with my computer, atomic clock, and cell phone.....oh, and my girl's BMW.

Windows computers needed an update in order to automatically update at the new daylights savings time.

Haven't checked my GS yet today, but I think I remember reading in the manual that if you have navigation, there's an option to let the clock be set automatically from the time on the GPS satellites. I wonder if that will pick up the early DST.

So then the satellites must have GMT with no info about the timezones. I was hoping that the system might be intelligent enought to adjust automatically, but I'm not surprised that it doesn't.

That's the way it appears to be. It's still one step ahead of my Bimmer which requires a complete manual re-adjustment. There's no auto adjustment of time in BMW's as far as I know.
