ML, worth the extra money?
Looking at a new GS350. Was going to order it with NAV, 18 inch summer tires, vented seats, sun shade, and XM. Was wondering if it is worth the extra money for mark levinson or not. I heard the ML in an 06 GS430 briefly and was not blown away. I was happy with my 02 IS300 stereo, will I be happy with the base stereo on the 07 GS?

what would your reason for getting the ML be?
with the ML, you can play DVD audio/DVD video. Without the ML you cannot.
To me, I did the hack and I wouldn't be without the ML. I can watch DVD's while moving and listen to DVD audios which are superior in sound to anything else out there.
But if you are just going to listen to CD's and or the radio, the sound is quite similar.
Depends on your needs wants in a stereo....

I hope it is worth the money. I just got it. Never heard it as the dealer didn't have one in stock for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I am still waiting on mine... tomorrow they say as it wasn't on the truck today. :-(
I heard from Rolling Sound (Car audio store) that it is is a great setup and the only thing you may need is an extra sub (If you are that picky)

I think lockpik came out with a new add on, where it involves no cutting. You simply remove your far left pin cluster, plug it into the one from lockpik, then plus that one into the stock.
From what I have read, it's available for order now for 3rd Gen GS.
I did the cutting. I will sell my car before I have any warranty issues, and even if it comes to that point, I am friends/associates with the service techs and they even said they wouldn't note my mods if I did have any issues..
Who cares what lexus states with their voids on the warranties.

Al, as always its a personal preference. I've had mine a few weeks. I downloaded and made a Rolling Stones CD...when I was playing it today I really noticed the sound circling around my head. I never realized that their were 3 speakers built into the dash...I knew of the center channel but not the ones by the corner of the windshield for driver/passenger, just never noticed it...not including the speaker in each door too. I know realize where all 14 speakers are that come with the ML. I was impressed at least with that and if you have the DVD Audio, then it is really cool. Another angle to look at...resale. I just purchased a preowned GS430 and would only look at ones that had the NAV/ML package...if you are getting NAV only not sure of the price difference to add the ML...most seem to have both not only NAV. So, although you may or may not make money back on the backend, it will make it more attractive to that buyer and help sell it. Add a sub if need too..someone just posted details on it today along with pics

Click on the DVD audio. I've found they have the biggest single selection.
If you'd like to go and purchase from a store, best buy has a few, not a ton, but about 50 different DVD-A.
