Default X-Drilled Brakes Anyone????

I have not seen anyone who mfg's x-drilled brakes.... and I think it's brake time. If anyone knows of a brand, or where I can buy some, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've looked at powerstop, brembo, and iRotors.... not sure who else, or where else.

It's a gimmick done purely for appearance purpose on cars like Lexus. You will actually have worse performance and possibility of rotors cracking on you.

I'm not sure about that. I've heard the performance is way better. Guess it depends where and what kind you get installed

Yes, it is better, but on the race track only, where you repeatedly use your brakes and care about heat dissipation. But those rotors are replaced very frequently. On street cars the benefit is zero; all you have is a very high probability of the rotors cracking.

If you want better brakes, keep the OEM rotors and buy high-performance pads. If, on the other hand you just want your brake rotors to look really cool, get the drilled ones.

I have had several sets of slotted / drilled combo brakes, which do benefit me.... as I do drive well over the speed limit,... anyone who's been on this board any length of time, know I am not a model 65mph driver... so sudden high speed braking does happen, and more often than not.... and tapered drilled holes reduce the likelihood of crackin from rotating, and properly designed patterns where the holes are not to closely spaced reduce that risk as well. The slots keep the structural integrity, while increasing heat dissipation.

I have been happy with my prior sets, and never once had an issue. Also hi perfromance pads were to be purchased with the rotors.

I concur with modeler, that drilled rotors are unnecessary for street purposes. Once a rotor is drilled the rotor is weakened and is more prone to cracking. Slotted rotors maybe a better bet since they are not prone to cracking. If you are getting warped rotors all the time then you might also look into floating rotors. These make sure that the rotors are always flat to the pads thus reducing warping and also makes for better braking. If you are not a crazy driver take modelers advice on performance STREET pads (not racing pads) and you will notice a significant difference.

Are you looking for a big brake kit or just rotors? I know Rotora makes a BBK and has rotors for the 3GS. As Ive already had them priced, they make both a front and rear BBK. I also know that StopTech and couple other brands make rotors for the 3GS. I would go with a slotted setup over cross drilled, and if you have aftermarket wheels or plan to get some, get an oem type pad instead of a high performance one. High performance ones have a lot of dust and you would end up cleaning your brakes every other day.

I like the combo design,... slotted / drilled... i've never had a pure drilled crack.... and none warp.

Ceramic pads leave no dust, and those are what I use.

I just looked up stoptech's page,... the GS300 ain't even listed in the 2006/7 listing of vehicles.
