My salesperson told me that the TSIB is meant to be applied after the owner takes delivery of the car and notices the excessive amount of dust but he and the sales department manager are willing to get them changed out before I take delivery, or at least that's what I think they're doing. Can't wait til Friday!!!

I thought I would add an update. After 5k miles, the new pads feel every bit as grabby as the original pads. When the dealership installed the low dusting pads, they did not resurface the rotors. I didn't have time to go back so I just let them "bed" in. I had to give a tad more brake pedal pressure to slow down from moderate speeds but at around 4k they started to improve and now they are the same as the old pads. Moral of the story, get your rotors resurfaced when you get your new pads boys.

My service guy at J-Lexus is the s#!t. My 06 gs-430 has 20k miles and he had the pads replace with no questions ask. He said " he will do whatever he can to make a customer happy". I think I will take him out to lunch.

I Don't Get It
Forgive me for not understanding this complaint. My wife and I washed our new GS350 for the first time last night. These wheels are so damn easy to clean compared to the cross spoke wheels that were on our 2003 BMW 530i. And excessive brake dust? You guys have no idea how much worse it could be. Buy a BMW and find out how good you have it.

Does anyone know if the '06 GS300 is included in this TSIB? I know it doesn't say it on the sheet that were posted on this thread, but maybe it got added later to the list of cars that qualify. I recently purchased an '06 GS300 with 25,500 miles and wanted to see if I qualify for the brake pad replacement. Thanks.

I had the pads switched, and the rotors turned at 20k, then found out about the TSB at 26k, and had them switched (rotors turned also) at the 25k service. I forgot about the pad change when picking up the car, until I hit the brakes at a signal, and the car didn't slow down like it used to, and I semi-locked the brakes in a panic. I was actually not very happy with the large change in performance, and it actually made me regret switching, but I'm hoping I just get used to it. The plus is that the dusting is almost a non-issue now. Funny thing is, I drive a 98 Camry, 95 Volvo, and for some reason, those cars feel like they stop better than the GS with the updated pads. I was always put off by the initial grab on the high friction pads b/c they would bite so hard, and then slightly fade. The M3 I drive is just consistent all the way (and has great bite). I may be the only person that noticed a difference, but I did notice it.

It's a few days after having the TSIB done and I have a pretty thick black coating on my wheels. I noticed some black the day after I had them done. I guess my expectations were too high, but after reading some posts about wheels staying clean for a week or two after having the original pads replaced, I was hoping for the same.
