Thumbs down 2007 RWD GS350 No Nav/ML

I have a new 2007 RWD GS350's without the Navigation or Mark Levinson. My initial feedback would be that not forking over the extra money for All Wheel Drive was a big msitake on my part. I loved the test drive in the AWD but thought my budget was stretched to the limit so I opted for a RWD model. Now that I am in my own RWD I can't stand the cornering. If I had my chance I would drop it back and walk away. Add to that the computer screen is the stupidest user interface I have been subjected to. If you have a 2006 GS keep it! The 2007 screen has no motion by-pass, no split screen display for radio station/climate and half my radio stations are always showing the song and the other half the radio station! Very distracting. So much for motion lock out on that display. And when I switch away from one of the ***** channels it shows whatever readout was last displaying until I go back to that station again. What idiot designed this screen interface & output??? For the money this car sucks.

I have the 07 AWD GS350 and simply love it! - I do have the NAV and ML and find the screen very well done!

If I were to buy a car today, this is the one I'd buy. - I won't go German because of reliability issues. So my choices would be limited to Honda and Toyota. I owned a Maxima once and while OK, I would not go Nissan/Infiniti -

I'm very happy with the AWD. I see your point about a split screen radio/climate. There's no doubt that some things in the car are not as easily accessible as one might like them to be, but I'm enjoying the car very much. I was pleasantly surprised today on how much I am able to fit in the car and the trunk. A local school needs things for charity, and I got everything in there. And it's a lot. I hope it won't adversely affect the car in any way.

Didn't you test drive the RWD also before buying? Additionally, didn't you play around with the screen and menus during the test drives? It's a fairly large purchase, and I definitely do research before dropping the cash so I won't have many unpleasant surprises. I'm sorry those few things are ruining your new car experience.

Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes in a major purchase like a car. I
did, but the things you were complaining about you should have notice
before you purchase the car. You also talked about having to stay within
a budget then claim to have other high price cars I agree with most of
what GS350 said don't take it personal consider it a lesson learned
Good luck with your next purchase

Hey Firstlps...we all have a budget. If you could choose to what would you really drive without a self-imposed budget? Bentley coupe, Ferrari coupe? But then where would you be living right? - your car Life is about choices. I chose to spend 'X' dollars on this car with an eye to getting the best car for my dollar. I stretched my decision to budget 'x' dollars on this car purchase. I hoped I would be happier but I am disappointed. I chose RWD without testing it out and just wished anyone else thinking RWD to go the extra mile and buy AWD.

I did just the opposite I purchase an AWD without test driving it when
I should have. The price difference was only $1800.00 but I thought it was
a good deal. I thought I would be happier but I was disappointed so I took
the financial hit and bought the RWD 350.

RWD vs AWD, being on East Coast I can't even imagine a winter without my AWD now And in good weather it has a decent performance with 70/30 powertrain split.

Speedlock could be bypassed with a single wire cut. Regarding new screen interface, I can't compare it since I never been inside of '06. From screenshots it looks like '07 has better graphics, but I wouldn't mind functionality from '06 version. Overall, the car is fantastic and I absolutely love it. Just wish something could of been done cosmetically to front wheel gap of AWD...
