Default Metallic or Non-metallic Tint?

I will be getting my car tinted next week, however, the installer states that metallic tint will cause radio interferance with the embedded antenna in the rear windshield. I really want metallic but is this going to be a big enough issue that I should stick with non-metallic? Thanks.

It will be an issue, how big I don't know. But I opted for the non metallic on my gs450h.

Looks wonderful.

The metallic will distort your location "possibly" with GPS and will also mess with your reception on both your cell phone and your radio antenna.

Stay away.

Some will agrue, no it won't but I am giving you my advice on experience. I had metallic in my previous car and it didn't get as good of reception and the cell phone was always scratchy as well. B/C of the metallic tint.

You make up your own mind.

Here is a pic with my 35% NON-metallic tint.

I had the metallic tint on my BMW, and never had any problems with navigation, or cell phone reception. The am radio reception is another story. It never came in clear again. I learned a big lesson. Dont get metallic tint!!!

Go with non-metallic, or even ceramic film. Don't take the chance with metallic. It's a pain to get film off and re-tint again. It's not worth it!

Yeah, I'd avoid the metallic tints. I have a non-metallic tint made by Madico in my 06 GS that affects the AM reception (some days more than others, but FM is fine). I can't imagine how much worse it would be with a metallic tint. Good luck with the tint!!

Skip the metallic and go ceramic. It doesn't affect radio reception at all.
