Nice set up, but I have a question. Looking at the K&N Nyno information it shows the increased HP to be 254.72 HP. My question is what happen to the 303 HP as advertised by Lexus. Thanks guys.

the 303 is power at the crank. They Dynojet pull is at the wheels. It's a lot less at the wheels because a lot of power gets lost in transition at the driveshaft, axles, diff and tranny. A good guideline is 80-85% of a manufacturer's published horsepower ratings (SAE corrected and smoothed) is what's behing realized at the wheels. It'll also vary on the trannies too.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread...
I just installed this today.....WOW! You can definitely hear a difference at 3K RPMs. It's the same sound when cruising at 2K....but when you step on it, it roars!
I had 1 extra bolt and washer in the bag....hopefully that's just extra or something isn't fully tied down.
I also noticed the intake scoop is much looser now. Before it fit snuggly into the OEM air filter box, but now the filter box just has the half opening....hopefully it's supposed to be like that.
the filter is very oily and I'm worried it will eventually slip off again. I used rubbing alcohol on the steel pipe and inside the filter where they connect. I also tightened down the clamp on it...fingers crossed. So far, the best $225 I've spent for this car.

okay, so the filter will not stay on....any ideas how to keep it from slipping off?
gonna try alcohol again and lock it down even tighter. what kind of tape will hold up to that kind of heat? electric tape, duct tape, do I need a special heat tape? thanks in advance.

No. The airflow sensor is different starting 2007.

I'm going to try and record a sound clip at lunch and I'll post it on here for everybody. It's pretty dramatic...

I honestly don't see how that could make any difference performance wise whatsoever. Placebo, really. I have had SRIs on previous cars and noticed absolutely nothing other than making the car raspier.

I noticed a pretty substantial difference the second I installed mine. Could be just the added roar of the engine playing tricks on me, or the fact that I was gunning it every where for about a week. Well worth the $200 bucks in my opinion!

All the CAI suppliers promise 10-15 hp gain from their products. They have dyno results to support it but you can make dynos give you any result you want. It does 'feel' like it has more power above 3K rpm but again it could be the sound fooling us.
