Pat, hows the results on the F-Sport intake? I was toying with the idea of that first but opt for the K&N.

It had stayed on for a week before I left for vacation. I'll check it when I get home to make sure it's still on. I think the key is to get all of the oil off of the end of the filter...I used a lot of rubbing alcohol.

I've also noticed a substantial power increase above 3000 rpms. Sounds great too.

I've noticed an increase in mileage per tank (MPG). Before this mod I was routinely getting 290-295 miles per tank. I have been getting 320-330 miles per tank with consistency. I drive the same way, the same speed, the same roads, all other things the same as well. Also, we haven't hit winter time yet where the winter gas blend will likely decrease my mileage per tank. So despite what some peope "think" on here, this mod works. So power when I need it, increased MPG, and it sounds good too.

Imagine that, a company that stands behind their product and it actually produces what they say. Go figure.

Default intake question

Love the pics BTW!

Ive done intake and exhausts on my diesel truck and of course my Ducati, but not my 350.
Is it REQUIRED or really necessary to have an exhaust installed on the car to do this intake upgrade? Are there any issues if you use stock exhaust with this?
Also, doesnt K&N make a composite intake tube or just the stainless one?
On trucks heat is an issue and the aluminum makes it hotter and is working against the grain when it comes to performance.
Anyone fill me in on this ether for all to see or on IM?
Thanks!!

Modifying the exhaust is not a requirement, for the K&N CAI. I have no idea if they sell a composite tube that fits the GS....the stainless steel is included...which is probably what creates the sound.
