Default Tires are howling and I can't stand it anymore!

I'm getting sick and tired of the tire noise from the Advans! Have any of you guys had success with getting pro-rated tire replacements @ Tustin Lexus? I know some of you have done it and my tires have way too much life in them to just toss them (I'm too cheap for that ). I have 13.5k miles and the tires look like they have more than 50% treadlife left! That's good news and bad news. It looks like the Advans have decent treadlife but the longer they take to wear out, the longer I have to live with the noise.

Robert,

What model Advan were they? Were they runflats?

I repalced my Dunlop Runflats with Michelin Energy MXV4 S8s - A great cruising tire. Quiet, long mileage and good on wet surfaces.

I am sure if you tell the dealer, they will try to take care of you, only problem is youll end up getting some new tire that may cost you quite a bit anyways, even w/ proration. I picked up some General Exclaim UHP at TireRack and they ride very nice and quiet, of course they are new but still a great tire at a great price IMO.

Smile Lexus = Ultimate Customer Service

After I put about 5000 miles on my factory Yokohama A10B, it also started to make lots of road noise and pulling. Second time after I complained to my service advisor, he went ahead talked to Lexus and his service manager trying to solve the issue. He called me back the very next day, letting me know that they have ordered a new set of Michelins PS2 as replacement.

Ultimate customer service to Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Texas.

i didn't fight for mine, but replaced them at 10k with plenty of tread left. i wish i had complained earlier, but ultimately i was like you - tired of the road noise. i didn't throw away the old ones b/c i there was too much tread left and i felt too wasteful to throw them out. i kept them as spares in case i needed them, and if there is enough tread on my michelins when the lease is up, i might return the car w/ the advans instead and keep the michelins for the next car.
