you're right i did post this before. thats pretty wierd. i thought i only posted it on lexus owners club. well i guess drunken-foruming causes you to not remember your own posts. but anyway........yes it is my car. the suspension is done, and they're working on the body now. after they took off the bumper they realized the lights need to be replaced too because of some little clamp thing thats broken. im trying to convince the body shop to roll my wheel wells but they are refusing saying, "we just spent all this time on new fenders and paint, were not gonna roll them and mess it up" which is stupid because its my car and if i say roll it then that means roll it right? im kind of worried about the new rims. 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 in back. anyone have rims that fit these dimensions that can tell me if it rubs at all or not?

Thank goodness you're o.k.

As for the car, get it fixed as soon as possible so that you'll stop worrying about it. Good luck!

I hope that never happens to me. You never know when some nut on a cell phone will cut in front of you and force you into the curb.

I've read about cheap korean cars hitting the curb at 50 during evasive maneuvers, and the wheels don't fall off.

Look at the angle of the skid marks and the height of the curb.

Also note that he had aftermarket wheels and tires that could of played a role in the outcome.

these are the worst wheels ever. heavy as hell, which im sure is what caused them to snap off. look closely at the pictures of the wheels. notice where it broke? its not the bolts in the nuts, its not even the wheel that failed, its the CAR that ENTIRE piece that holds the wheel on snapped!. but honestly, if the car hopped the curb instead of wheel snapping and stopping, we could have gone over the side of the cliff. you never know.....

i went and visited her in the shop today, took some pics with my phone, they're not great quality but just so you get an idea of the progress so far.

suspension work is complete, the new fenders have been installed. they're waiting on the new bumper to come and everything will fall into place. hopefully within another week.

ive read about it, as much as i love lexus, i dont think i'd want to buy the first time they try something like this. i think its pretty obvious that the BMW m3 is a proven champ. plus the new v8, im seriously ****ting myself in anticipation.

True that said the IS-F would be a little more exclusive since M3's are every where and if there are problems Lexus would not hesitate to make it right.
But still a hard decision until I can see it in the metal and then test drive it to see if it handles as well. The problem I have with the current M3 is the rear quarter panel is way too long and makes it look like an American coupe not the traditional euro look.

The current M3 is much more sportier looking and better proportioned.
The only view that BMW has improved is maybe the frontal view in my opinion.
