There is something rotten in Denmark, the manual states how to re-initialize the sensors, but adds that the engine cannot be turned off for 20 minutes after initialization has started.. the manual does not specify if the car can be driven during those 20 min. or if it has to sit there and idle.

Two, there is a tire selector switch just under the glove box, next to the console. again, the manual states that new tires, and presumably new sensors have to be registered (by the Lexus dealer) by depressing the switch to its second position. Then very confusing, the manual adds, you change the tire selector switch setting each time you change tires, BUT RE_REGISTRATION for the second tire change is NOT REQUIRED...

What gives? After reading all your comments, I am of the opinion that I do not want those tire pressure sensors on my rims..

Anybody care to guess as to what is going on with these TPS's?

Well at least you guys have tire sensors. When I bought my '06 GS430 in May of 2005 right off the showroom floor, I didn't go more than 20 miles when the dash and the message window lite up and said I had a major tire sensor malfunction. I took the car to a local dealer (not the original dealer) and they had the car for two hours before they let me know that the reason my dash was lighting up was because I had no tire pressure sensors. It seems the original dealer upgraded the wheels by installing the G-spiders but forgot to swap out the sensors. The service department actually drove the car over to the sales side of the house because they said the guys over there knew more about installing the sensors then they did since they had no previous experience installing them. It took another 6 hours before I got the car back.
