Should I ClearBra?

A clear bra will definitely protect the paint on your car - mainly the bumper, hood, and portion of the fenders. You may also want to cover the head lights, fog lights, and side-view mirrors.

If you don't want rock chips on the front of your car do it.
Most will cover the front bumper and about a foot and a half of the hood and fenders. I have the front bumper, full hood, and full fenders covered on my 02 WS6.

Make sure to get VentureShield clearbra, most of the install places are switching from 3M to a new VS. It doesn't have UV protection and your paint with "age" with the rest of the uncovered surface. Plus, it suppposed to be virtually clear with no hints of yellowish. VS also has lifetime warranty. Go to www.ventureshield.com and look for 3GS patterns, the usual package will cover exactly what has been described by SGT. Regarding pricing for the package, it should not be more than $500.

+1 on ventureshield. It was the 1st thing I did for my GS.Even though I still try like heck to avoid those open-bedded rock haulers on the freeway, sometimes it can't be avoided.Having the clearbra gives me much peace of mind!

What about for a used lexus?
I am considering buying a used 2006 GS 430 and was wondering is there any way to tell if it has received a clear bra before? In the event there is no way to tell would it hurt to have another one put on in the event it already had one?

My brother clear bra his white Porsche 911 with the 3M film. After about a year his car looks two-tone. The 3M clear bra definitely yellows and I would not recommend it on a white car.

do you clean the clearbra with anything special and any issues with staining of the paint around where it ends?
I unfortunately find the paint soft as well and have several chips to the metal...

Treat the clear bra like your car's finish. Wash, wax like normal. One thing I noticed when claying is you have to be careful because the edge will pick up the clay and is a pain to remove.

On my brother's white Porsche it definitely looks two tone. The 3M bra looks yellower after about a year. The installer also told him that the film will be more noticeable on white. I'm sure on other colors it won't be as bad.
