there's some similar lines, but I have no issues telling the GS apart from the Nissans. I think the back of the Hyundai sedan is much more similar.

Now, this might be the correct question:
What's more insulting, owning a $50,000 Maxima with a Lexus badge or an overpriced Camry with a Lexus badge?

mine is a 40000$ maxima, so i feel less insulted.

Sorry, I just disagree that these cars are so alike that you can't tell 'em apart...

+1 - I see enough of a difference to be able to tell them apart. The GS is certainly more attractive.

Guys I was being funny. To me the cars look like my damn 2GS as well. Nissan stole every design cue from the 2GS so when they came out with their cars and then the 3GS came, well, we were SCREWED.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but I don't need:
300,000 Altimas sold a year
100,000 Maximas sold a year
x 6 years
= 2.4 million knock-offs around.

Clearly the 3GS is much much more detailed and better executed than any Nissan sedan from a design standpoint but glancing at them for a split second, you can sadly mistake them for one another

It's ok, we have RWD/AWD! They can imitate the looks, but definitely not the way it drives.

i know we're just kidding around.
The maxima just looks uglier from every angle.

and when the 2002 altima came out, everyone screamed 'rip off' after seeing the fastback design and loopback windows.

Point well taken and I agree with you. Sorry, wasn't calling you out.
