Exclamation Navi reset

Hi, I have an ´06 GS and I have a big problem with my navi, when I push the MENU button it only says that please insert the correct disk...how can I reset my navi ECU to reboot the whole navigation system, I know that disconnecting from the battery is not enough(I have already tried)....where can I find the navi ECU?or what ECU should I disconnect?

Thanx for the help

would that not fall under warranty? Why would you be worried about that?

You can always unplug the Nav unit for a few mins from the backside to reset.

Take to the dealer. Covered by warranty.

Two ideas. Disconnect the battery BUT leave it disconnected for 7-9 minutes before reconnecting it or find the fuse for the dashboard NAV display unit and remove it for 7-9 minutes beford reinserting the fuse.

BTW, remove the NAV DVD first so that after you reconnect the battery or fuse you can insert the NAV DVD as if you're starting over from scratch.

Yes, it's a 7.5A fuse called TV. The IGN and ACC must also be turned off.

Just pull the disk out and then put it back and navi will reload itself.

If you want to reboot the system and reload the firmware, you need to pull the fuse or disconnect the battery and leave it undone for a bit, say for half hour or so. If you just eject the dvd and put it back in, it will reload the maps but not the firmware.

I am. I've done it several times while experimenting with different versions of the firmware and nav dvds. There have been several threads on it in the past. It is, for example, the only way to revert back to an older firmware version. just inserting an old dvd will load the old maps but not the firmware. John, not sure what problem you are trying to solve but if pulling the fuse/battery cable doesnt reset your system, you may be stuck taking it to the dealer. The thread started asking about the ECU. I don't know how to get at that.

John, I think you already found this but the threads are headed down the same path
