Its not the motor, its the gears. Just keep replacing it when your car is in warranty, then shut off the auto tilt when the car is out of warranty.

Good idea. Yeah, I've got an appointment this weekend to get mine replaced. Kind of disappointing that the problem can happen again.

Brought it in this weekend and they couldn't finish replacing both mirrors. Apparently the driver mirror that they ordered was damaged. I needd to make abnother appointment for that mirror. Also, being that I had the protective flim on my original mirros they are going to apply the clear armor on the replacement mirrors as well.

Default The mirror issue - a known problem

Just to inform You I have discovered a problem already know to Lexus. The outside mirrors may stop tilting in reverse as Lexus says due to carwash miscare (?). At first it sometimes 'forgot' to tilt down when put into reverse and weeks later it stayed in the down position and pushing the buttons helped neither (you can not adjust it vertically).
My friend's 450h suffers the same issue (by the way we use the same carwash).
So in case you notice such do not be scared, Lexus changes the whole mirror under warranty. They even showed me that until the arrival of the new mirror, the mirror shall be pushed hard from one end to the other with hand and it will work for a few more days.

Hope that it helps some of you.
