Default slightly used 350 awd for 46k???

I've been scouring for a white/black combo gs 350 with nav and levinson. New/used - doesn't matter. I realize this combo has an msrp of 50+. I found a lexus dealer in Illinois who has the exact car I want. Slightly used 2007 - 12 thousand miles! Carfax shows a 5 month lease return from New Jersey and the dealer picked it up at aucion.

Sticker of 46k... KBB doesn't even touch that!

I offered 38k and I'd travel from Seattle to pick it up and seal the deal asap. I got the run around that this is an in demand car -- but carfax shows the purchase and inventory rate at the dealer as may 19.

Just ridiculous.

Question -- what's the going rate for an awd with nav and levinson? Slightly used? It's too new to qualify for the certified program I think... so it's not like the car cost them that much. And heck - from auction - I bet they got a screaming deal!

Am I off base? is the car really worth 46k?

Any used Lexus even 2007 model can qualify as a Certified Pre Owned if it passes the dealership's inpsection for certification. I believe I saw that same car listed on Auto Trader as well.

MSRP for an AWD with ML/navi would be around 53k I assume.

46k sounds reasonable.

I would pay another grand or 2 and buy brand new, in fact I would wait for an 08....this is the time of year when waiting a couple of months will benefit you, you can get an 08 for a grand more than an 07, resale value will be far more in a few years. People will say an 08 will cost more, no incentives, bla bla...MSRP will be up a few hundred bucks, youll still get a huge discount off MSRP

Wouldn't pay a cent over 40k.

The car already has at least 1 year's worth of miles, and I would treat as at least a 1 year old car. As suggested, at the right time of the year/month/quarter, you can get a new one for about the same price.

I was thinking anything over 40 would be ridiculous as well. And most definitely agree that with the 08's on the way out... there should be some substantial discounting.

Yes - this car is from auto trader... I saw it online and sent an email to the dealer.

Looks like I'll probably wait for an 08 unless I find that smokin' deal on an 07. No sense in losing a years worth of resale for nothing.

Why not try to strike a deal with that dealer? Have you negotiated a price already?

People love the cars...I am not sure if that is the case. I think it is more likely that people dont buy a car and get rid of it after 9 months, earliest gs350 buyers got them in september. Look for a gs300 and youll see many cars.

I would think that the 07s should be around or below invoice right now. My 08 order was at a very reasonable premium over invoice... in fact a bit better than gvr4wd's quote. If anyone is seriously buying the DC area, PM for dealer details.

I got the quote from the one in Alexandria...... Most in MD want a lot more, though. When do you expect yours in?

It should arrive in September... Prices are a bit over the map. In true Lexus form, they really try to hold until pushed.
