Wow that package you have listed in your sig is readily available here in many SoCal dealerships.

It just so happened that the dealer found one on the ship so I didn't have to special order mine. I waited for a month. Yeah I agree with flipside909, it looks to be a popular package.

Maybe because he's in the northeast and wants RWD? I think most of the dealer stock in this region is AWD. I'm assuming AWD since the post says only GS350, not GS350 AWD.

Cool Central CA Order

We had our dealer order our GS350 RWD in GFM/Ash with ML on Wednesday June 27th. Today we were told that the order was accepted by Lexus and the car would be in port at Long Beach on July 8th. It will arrive at our dealership after processing and delivery in 3-7 days after in arrives in port. My wife and I are very excited!

I would seriously consider canceling the deal or at a minimum renegotiating it. The 07s are getting cheaper by the day and this month residuals on leases would have dropped by about 5% or so.

If it's that soon then it's not a "special order." The car's already built and on the ship from Japan.

OK-Then I would say that our dealer did not have a vehicle on their lot like we wanted so we requested that they order one for us. Since there is a constant flow coming over from Japan with the regional packages they found one that was not reserved to be delivered to any dealer yet and that became our car. Still feels like a special order to us. How long did you wait after you ordered your car?

My car took 3 weeks to get here.

Please don't get offended, I just wanted to clarify that a special order, meaning that Lexus has to build your car from scratch, would take 3-4 months. Otherwise, the car has already been built and is somewhere on a boat, or in the States and hasn't been sold yet.

We didn't spec one out with something other than what they normally come with for our region if that's what you are saying. I know that takes much longer. That's what my dealer referred to as "Specing Out", not orderering. That does take 3-4 months. Unlike domestic cars these Japanese built vehicles are constantly being shipped over but they don't have a destination until a dealer places an order for them or they are allocated to a dealer. It's still a special order for us as the car most likely would have gone elsewhere had we not placed the order like we did.

Ahhh yeah. For folks who want Lexus Link, for example, those would be special orders.

It makes me wonder why Lexus doesn't produce more with this? It could bring more revenue since I'm sure a good amount of people would subscribe to the service.

As far as I know, there was only one 3GS with the color combo and options I requested on the boat

to GFM!!!

Lexus Link is hit and miss for some. For those who have AAA, they figure the extra expense is not worth the extra cost and trouble.

Am I the only one that thinks AAA is not necessary? My salesperson said we get free road-side assistance, loaner cars, and Lexus would even pay for 2 nights of hotel if we get stranded somewhere and the car needs to be repaired for that much time.

The only reason I'd get Lexus Link is when the airbags deploy, they'd send help right away if I happen to be unconscious. Other than that I don't see much use for it.
