At first sight I *loved* the IS, perfect shape, front, side and rear, but that was too small for my taste. Then when first I saw the LS I though "Okay, that is a big IS". I must admit that the GS style had to grow on me.
Now I still think the IS is the hotter of the Lexus, but it should be a coupé.
I must say I believe that the GS is the one with the most character and the one that is going to last the longer in term of styling, I'm already bored of the LS. I do not even want to mention the ES or worse the SC !
Not to show off my car or anything, but the GS is *beautiful* !

I would definately pick the LS600hL's front end with the LED headlights over the 3GS's though.
The LS460 nterior while comparatively busier does not look cluttered to me at all. Edge to the LS for me.
Totally agree here.

GS Works For Us
For us the GS is the right Lexus. The IS was fun and sporty, but a bit too small and the interior didn't feel as classy. The LS is too big and too expensive for us.

I go back and forth on which one looks better.
If the Camry and the ES did not exist, I would say LS hands down,
but in my opinion they share WAY too many styling queues... I saw
a Camry from a distance today and I thought it was an LS
I've made this mistake MANY times and I know exactly what these
cars are supposed to look like.
On the other hand, the GS shares a lot of features with the Nissan
cars and I have confused and have seen people confuse the 3GS
with Altimas and Maximas.
In the end, I think I would need fewer mods on the LS to make it
look the way I want, so I will say LS, but not by much...
As a side note I think the best looking car in the whole lineup that
looks the most distinct is the IS.

On paper ( back in Car & Driver ), I was like... hell no!
...then i saw a pea green GS300 ( first one ever ), and I was like... damn,.. a big body Maxima?? What tha hell.... wait... it has an L??? LEXUS???? WTF!!!!
....then, I dropped the SC400 off at the dealership and they had a black and a white one,... and looked at the interior, and was like HELLLLLLLLLL YEAH!!!!
....I saw the LS,...and was like HELLLL YEAH!! Only complaint is that it does look like a bigger camry more than anything I've seen.
The GS has similar lines of a CLS.... and yeah,...the rear end doesn't impress me... but lowering the car.... makes it look even more sleek... so I don't fuss too much.
The LS looks like older person car to me... but still could be gangsta.

Dont get me wrong, my wife and I own a 1st gen GS3 and are on our second 2nd gen gs (upgraded to the gs4 from a gs3) I love both of them. To me the 3rd gen looks kinda like a 1st gen and 2nd gen mashed together. It looks good. But... people the LS says "Im a baller" all over it. I rub one out every time I look at one. In fact it looks so good to me that im debating on getting an older LS and just pretending like im a baller. lol

The comments from some of you describing your dislike for the gs reminds of how I used to feel. Then my wife won an arguement and we got one. Over the year I began to love it....so much that we now have 2. I think it's uniquely styled and that's what I like most. I hate cookie cutter designed cars. As much as I don't like the sc430, I would still drive one because it is so unique and stylish. That's what today's modern Lexus is all about....unique style...trend setting style.
