I have a 2006 GS300 w/ Yoko Advan A10, 225/50-17 (non runflats). 13k mi on the car and tires. No mods to the car.

The road noise is really high. I presume it's tire noise. Almost sounds like brake noise at low speeds, but the brake pads and rotors look ok.

I had a 1999 GS300 that was much quieter.

I didn't notice the road noise when the car was new, but now it's almost unbearable. So frustrating in a car that is touted to be 'super quiet'.

Is this a common problem with the latest generation of the GS? are some tires quieter than others? tire suggestions? is there an alignment/setup that can be done to reduce the noise (I don't drive it hard...).

It's your tires. Do a search. The Advans are, well, crap.

Agree, very loud. Thinking about Mich Pilots on my first set.
However, Advans are great on wet roads!

i can't say i ever noticed much noise with my advans, but, I'm about 19,000 miles into my 06 GS, and i've already switched out my tires to Michellin Pilot Sports. They perform pretty well and the cars road noise is pretty minimal. I think with my Advans, I only noticed road noise when I was braking.

the advans howl like crazy, some people have reported as early as 3000 miles. they are horrible. go onto tirerack and read reviews on these tires - you will see MANY MANY users that aren't on clublexus who reported the same thing.

i replaced mine voluntarily at 10k miles, but we lived with howling for 5k miles, or 4 months. it drove me out of my mind.
