Then I guess the bump to 340 hp won't matter to you either?

Of course, I'm kidding, but we really know nothing about what the 08 has in store for us. There's been no substantive information. How would you feel if you go for the 07 and the the 08 brings some stunning surprises?

Just a thought...

An engine update is very unlikely since they have just done it for the 07 V6's.

The rumors are that the changes (as far as V6 goes) are only cosmetic so...

Another thought. You're "assuming" there won't be discounts offered on 08's. Was that the case when the 07 came out?

I'm definately going to keep driving my 06 GS3 in anticipation of a smokin' deal on an 08. But, I'm not going to show up at the dealer when the first 08's hit their lot and are parked next to a bunch of unsold 07's. I'm thinking December 30th might be a good day. Hmmmm.

Yes, but Lexus didn't have a 330hp BMW to compete with in 07 either...

Do you guys have a realistic time frame on the announcement of any changes made by Lexus themselves?

Normally the strategy is to keep it as quiet as possible so that they don't compromise current sales. Rumors of minimal changes only reinforce that strategy. I'm guessing they'll remain tight lipped until the transporters start arriving with 08's.

In 2006, it was 245hp vs. 300hp.

For 2007, it's around 310 vs. 330? That's close enough to neglect.
