Default Last night I bought a 2006 black on black

GS 430. It has 23,000 miles on it and I am very excited. I was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu so as you could imagine I am totally blown away with the differences between the 2. I have a couple of questions for anyone that can help.

1. The Saab dealership I bought it from said that even though I did not by it from a Lexus dealership I could get free car washes from the Lexus dealership. Is this true?

2. I remeber reading posts that say that you can get your brake pads changed if they are dusting to much and they may still be covered by warranty. If true would I still be under that warranty?

3. Anyone know of a good tinting place up in the Chicago area and how much should I expect to pay? Also what is the darkest I can go and still be legal. Thanks for any input?

The dealership where we got our car, has a sign at the car wash, saying free washes are for customers of that dealership only. They have a price list posted for car washes and other services. I'm not sure how other dealers operate.

Congrats on your purchase. Haha Chevy Malibu, I feel your pain, that's my daily driver previously a 2002 and now a 2007 (company car).

1) Depending on the dealership and their policy, generally complimentary car washes are given to those who purchased their car from that particular Lexus dealership. Some dealers are generous to give free washes to earn your business, you may want to check your local Lexus dealers.

2) As long as you are in your basic warranty period 4yr/50k miles, you should be able to address the low dusting brake pad issue to your local Lexus dealership visit.

Good luck and congrats!

Default Tinted Windows

In Illinois you can tint the rear and back windows as dark as you want. However, the front windows cannot be tint. Hope that help.

Congrats and welcome. I am a new member with a recently purchased black on black GS430 as well. I could not be happier with the car and I think we will have many happy miles with our cars. I am glad you raised the brake dust issue. I am going to see if my dealer will install the low dust pads on mine.

nice job fellas...b on b is sweet and love the gs430. i also purchased mine from a MB dealer in atlanta with 7300miles...the dealer in jax replaced my pads with no problem. just call to schedule appt with the TSIB # b/c they may have to order those pads...but what a difference after.
i do notice a performance difference too but u get used to it

Welcome!

Any dealership should and would replace the brake pads for free since it's a technical service bulletin.

As far as car wash goes, it'd be a hit and miss depending on the dealership like others have said. Good luck and enjoy!
