Anyway, Mobil 1 is in both of my Lexus now.
0-2500 mile --> factory engine oil
2500-5000 miles --> synthetic blend
5000-10000 miles --> Mobil 1
10000-15000 miles --> Mobil 1
and so on...
Basically I follow the factory recommended 5000 interval.

Thanks!
I have changed the oil on my 2006 GS300 many times. The oil plug is 14 mm.
If you open the door that is under the right front side of the automobile you will see the oil filter holder there. If it has a small bolt on the outside, you have to remove this and stick the little plastic unit they put in the box when you purchase the filter from Lexus in the hole. This drains the remaining oil out of the filter before you remove the bigger cover. I then use a filter wrench that fits right over the unit. You can purchase these from any good autoparts store. It looks like a cap that you put you socket driver into. ** Be very careful when you remove the small bolt. This bolt can be very difficult to remove. Make sure you have a snug fit otherwise both units will turn together and you can which I have done, strip the screw head. Hope this helps. PS: Read the side of the Lexus filter box very carefully. You have to have 2 O rings, plastic piece and the oil cartridge in the box.

Has Worked OK For Me
With all the new engines that come from the factory with synthetic these days, I'm not sure these old school rules apply anymore. I could be wrong.
