Oil & Filter Change
Is there a tutorial here that shows an oil & filter change on the GS350? I've searched and I'm not having any luck. Also, what is the oil filter part number and where is the best place to buy them?

That's a good question, Yang. That post is specifically conducted on a GS300. I am wondering if it is the same exact procedure for the GS350 as well. Of course the difference between the two cars is the engine displacement, but it appears that the oil change procedures are very similar.

Filter Part #
OK-If the DIY for the GS300 is the same it's pretty staight forward. Can somebody tell me what the filter part number is and a good place to order a case? Also, what is the engine's oil capacity?

6.6
Found it. 6.6 qts. with filter change. Oil change looks pretty straight forward. I just need a supply of filters/drain plug gaskets and a wrench for the oil filter cover.

Filter Cover Socket Size/Oil From Factory
Does anybody know what the size of the filter cover is? I ordered a case of filters from Sewell today and I'm going to change around 1K miles. Do these engines come with regular or synthetic oil from the factory?

I am pretty sure the oil from factory is NOT synthetic. From what I've read on the forums here, it's regular or possibly a blend. I am at 10k miles, and I plan on switching to Mobil1 on my next oil change.
I had the same quesiton as you on the size of the wrench for the oil filter cover. I have one that I use for my RX but it's too big to use on the GS350

Filter Cover Socket Size
Doesn't anybody here change their own oil? Maybe not. Unless you are all just to embarrassed to admit you use a big adjustable wrench on the filter cover.

Oil Change
I have changed the oil on my 2006 GS300 many times. The oil plug is 14 mm.
If you open the door that is under the right front side of the automobile you will see the oil filter holder there. If it has a small bolt on the outside, you have to remove this and stick the little plastic unit they put in the box when you purchase the filter from Lexus in the hole. This drains the remaining oil out of the filter before you remove the bigger cover. I then use a filter wrench that fits right over the unit. You can purchase these from any good autoparts store. It looks like a cap that you put you socket driver into. ** Be very careful when you remove the small bolt. This bolt can be very difficult to remove. Make sure you have a snug fit otherwise both units will turn together and you can which I have done, strip the screw head. Hope this helps. PS: Read the side of the Lexus filter box very carefully. You have to have 2 O rings, plastic piece and the oil cartridge in the box.
