I would appreciate any opinion concerning tire noise with run flats. I spoke to a dealer rep and he said that the owner of his dealership switched to regular Michelin Pilots and his automobile is much quieter. I then spoke to a major tire distributer and he said you could do the same with cooper tires, but he went on to explain because of the 50 series tires that come with the car you really will have the noise no matter what tires you put on. Has anyone changed to a non runflat and is there a noticable reduction in tire noise ? My automobile did come with a spare also.

There are many threads about this, run-flats or not, the OEM tires are pretty noisy.

And it's not about the 50 series tires, it is the rubber compound. Change them out. Some dealerships do it for free, talk to your service department/salesperson. Good luck.

Also do a serach for runflat tires in the SC430 forums. There are tons of discussions about tire noise because of runflats. I just recently took them out on my SC430 and put on some non-runflats, 40 series, and they are sooooo much smoother and quieter.
