Default Low dust break pads - Front or All?

My dealer is going to replace the low dust break pads next week. For those of you have done this, did your dealer replace two front pads or all 4 pads?

They will change the front pads only.

Just the front but that included changing rotors as well.

We had it done a week ago, and I can truly feel no difference whatsoever. The car had 1800 miles at the time, and the rotors were not turned or replaced.

I was expecting for at least the pedal to require a bit more pressure, but not even...

I think there is a noticable difference. The original dirty brakes stopped the car much better. Felt like a BBK set-up. Made me smile. Felt like performance. The new brakes work fine and I'm not complaining at all. No way I could have tolerated that dirt all over my new pretty chrome wheels (when I get them).

I seem to notice more force to stop but nothing bad. I think they only repaced the pads. then again I only have 4800mi on the car, so maybe they didnt think I needed the rotors to be done.

I had only 1K on mine when it was done. Good mechanics never change pads without either resurfacing rotors or changing them. You get sqeaky brakes if you don't change.....most of the time.

Your the ONLY one I have ever heard not notice a difference. Both with the pressure needed to apply the breaks and the most important less break dust.

Maybe they just said they changed your and didn't, b/c your results are very uncommon.

I should have been clearer... I was only referring to the feel and grip of the brakes being about the same. The brake dust situation is much much better (as one would have hoped!), and back then I checked the paperwork, and the part number for the low-dust pads is the correct one.

I was definitely expecting to step on the pedal harder etc., but to my surprise, I haven't experienced that. So, for me the decision to switch them has been a no-brainer.

I can feel me needing to press harder, but not much, and not in a irritating way. It feels like the ES as for as pressing power, althugh I know if I stomped on the brakes its will stop faster.

GOttcha.
YOur recent post allows me to completely understand your feelings.
Congrats on the new pads.

I actually still haven't done it.... I drive around with blackened wheels quite often.

To me any performance sacrifice is not worth it... especially when safety is involved. The wheels get dirty yes but its not worse than a BMW.

I agree. I use wheel wax to help. Softer brakes give higher performance
and in turn, more dust.
