Almost replaced my GS with an '08 S63!
My wife and I were at the MB dealership to get a S550 to replace her S500. She did not see any color combos she liked in inventory so we came home empty handed but while at the dealership, I tried to get her into a black/black S63. She said it looked too masculine but it looked good on me. She graciously offered to use the GL450 as her daily driver and I could trade in the S500 and the GS350 to use the S63 as my daily driver. Then reality set in and I started to think about depreciation on a beast like that. $140k MSRP, 25k miles/year = Street value of $70-80k at best in 2-3 years. The only other option would be to keep the GS and get rid of the 997S but I had my foot out the door before that suggestion was made.
The funny thing is that all I could think about was whether or not I was willing to part with my GS350 for the S63. Sounds funny but depreciation issue aside, I really like my GS that much. It's the perfect car for long distance commutes and the main thing I love about it is that it's effortless to drive. In an almost relaxing kind of way. The throttle is light, steering is light, seats are soft, everything is great. I can't wait to get it back with the PS2s on it! The dealership has had it for 1 1/2 weeks now and I think I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

no kidding. I should've followed my family's legacy. hehe
btw, your steering is light? Mine is heavy. Like I couldnt turn the wheel with a finger in the spoke without trying hard. I can turn the wheel with one hand but proabably not with my palm to turn the wheel like if I was trying to park and use my hand to rotate the wheel.

I was looking at the S550 and/or the E550.
Such nice cars, but I have just heard horror stories about problems with maint issues with certain cars/times.
Then I went lookin at the GT3/997 turbo, now there's a car.
Those spider monks can be a handful at times. They just won't shut up in my garage at times. I have to go and sick the beagle and dauchound/shi tzu mix on them.
Those two really frighten just about anything.
Together they don't even weight 30lbs.
I dunno, well see.
I will honestly start looking in about 1 year for a replacement for the 450h or maybe just an addition, we'll see.

Ridiculous MSRP and depreciation aside, let's not forget insurance ...
