I liked the 06/07 look and was hoping that they didn't go too drastic with the mid-cycle "refresh" and they didn't. I still like it. It's one of those things where if you liked it, you still will... if you didn't, you still won't. Can't do much about mid-cycle refreshes, they're just refresh, not redesign.
Summer 2008 will be my time to get a nice summer '08, just before the '09 come out.
Yeah, rims look just ok, but then again, real riders get custom rims anyway...also, gotta remember, the GS-F is coming, so don't want to show your hand before the pot gets big...

Did you guys expect more? I like the side blinkers and I like that they didn't change the taillights. I'm more curious to see if they got rid of the ridiculous circa 1985 temp/time display.

You guys say that the '02 refresh was just as mundane, but that car got new headlights and tail lights, wheels exhaust tips, and bumpers. This car got new wheels and the bumper changes are hardly noticeable, and the headlights and tail lights are identical.
If this is what the car is going to look like, this will certainly be the worst selling and least successful GS generation to date. Sorry to say, but this is not enough to perk up poor sales.

OK, so my local dealer still has a new GS430 available loaded with a $59K MSRP. What number do you guys think should buy the car, based on the two facts that the GS350 has more hp and the GS460 will be out soon?

NOTE: Mods, thread title should be changed to "facelifted GS prototype pics"
Those are NOT official and final pics of the facelifted 2008 GS.

Yet more speculation and assumptions from some people here on the forums .
We already have direct confirmation from a bunch of insiders that the 2008 GS WILL have new front and rear bumpers, updated headlights and tails, new grill, and an interior update, among a few other things.
That rear bumper from the prototype looks almost exactly the same as the current GS. As the article states, other than the front bumper (and rims and turn-signal mirrors) there is nothing else new on this GS prototype in the pics. Lexus was likely doing durability/reliability testing and to see how well cooling would work with the revised front bumper. This prototype likely has a 4.6L V8 inside and that is probably why they are testing it.
Let's wait for OFFICIAL 2008 GS pics from Lexus before we jump to conclusions.

While most styling updates include freshening of all the front and rear styling, this prototype is showing only a revised front bumper. Note the subtly reshaped lower air inlet in the center, and the taller openings on either side which now better match the center opening in height. It is likely that this new bumper will be part of an overall freshening which will include new grille, headlights, taillights, etc. once the styling update is completed.

if the GX is any indication, an "update" probably won't be much.

Not sure why anyone is expecting huge changes. Cant recall any Lexus that has had major changes during a mid life freshening. The previous gen GS didnt have a huge makeover either.
It looks alright. This model is in a rare color that I have only seen once (not a popular color), plus the masking tape on the bumpers is hiding some of the smaller details.
In due time we will see official pics.

If it asn't for the taped up Lexus badges, it looks like someones '07 modded car. Looks like in this version, they didn't add the turn signal in the mirrors. Not a fan of the dual tone mirrors. Wait maybe its blk tape. If you look carefuly in the blk area, ther's a sharp angle that COULD be a covered turn signal. And I hope no chrome door handles. I like those new rims.
