Modeler, I hate to tell you this, but I paid exactly invoice, or about 7K under MSRP... Of course, I paid $1700 for white-glove covered delivery of my car back East, but as I said, that was still WAY under the price I was quoted locally. I was quoted 2K under MSRP, and of course they didn't have the car I wanted (with active vehicle stabilizer, pre-collision, etc. as explained above) anyway.

Hameed,
I did drive a car (demo from a local MD dealer) without the active vehicle stabilizer, but only for about 25 miles, and only about 5 miles on twisty roads. I believe there is a noticeable difference now that I am driving my own car. This seems corroborated by a few car reviews I have read, and also by a long discussion with a Cincinnati car salesman (I scoured the country searching for the perfect car) who had been invited by Lexus to a racetrack to preview the GS 450h. He told me that the car with the stabilizer handled much better in near-extreme situations. My Corvette had the F55 suspension, which is the Vette's most sophisticated suspension and a somewhat primitive version of the active vehicle stabilizer.
The downside, I guess, is that the AVS takes up the spot taken by the mini-spare (thus, I must use run-flats or risk being left high and dry). I don't find the summer run-flats nearly as noisy as I feared I would.

that looks fantastic - the starfire is a great color.
can you take some pics of the interior? looks like you have cashmere. i've looked around a bit for the 450h and that seems to be a popular color combo for regular production (not special order).
invoice is a great deal too - congrats on the new purchase!!!!!!!!!

GS with the pre-collision radar - possible/easy to get?
Had to buy it out in California to get the active vehicle stabilizer option (other options -- pre-collision radar, XM, nav, lexus link, levinson, etc.). I just love the way this car handles, and I honestly don't miss my Corvette C6 (my only regret is that the GS doesn't have the Vette's heads-up display). Here is a pic taken at our home -- the car doesn't yet have the painted brake calipers, but I have purchased the G2 paint (black) and it won't be long....
I'm in CA, but I never even seen a GS with the pre-collision radar on it in my dealer's lot. I want to get it when I order my 2008 GS350, probably next month.
Does ANYONE have any idea how it will be to get that option?

Drive the car in good health.
Now layer on some Zaino (http://www.zainobros.com) before winter and you're good to go!

Just got the calipers painted!
My son Josh just painted my calipers. Used black caliper paint, as that goes best with Starfire Pearl, I think. Got my decals on EBay (from a US source), and in fact I got enough decals to do three more cars -- so am more than willing to share the decals I have left (just send me a stamped self-addressed envelope). Here are some photos to enjoy. I'm very pleased with the result Josh achieved. One question: we tightened the wheels to 90 lb/ft using the torque wrench. Does that sound right?
