When the GS400 Debuted in 1998, it was touted as the fastest automatic sedan in production. 0-60 in 5.4 secs but they haven't been able to capture any new thunder since that. The 3rd gen, performance-wise, gets killed by the M45, and bimmer 550. I dunno, Lexus is I guess heading another direction but why come up with all the hoopla of "F"cars and not make them AWESOME??? Lexus get your head out of your @$$!!!
For what it's worth, the IS 350 is pretty much the fastest naturally aspirated 6cyl sedan on the market, and will even mince a few Boxsters, Mustangs, Corvettes, Z's, and scores of others.

When the GS400 debuted in 1998, it was clocked as the world's fastest sedan at 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Then it was beat out by Jaguar not too long after. Where did you get 5.4 seconds? I still have my Motor Trend and Car & Driver issues from 1998 when the car was first tested, including that February MT Import Car of the Year issue!

Not hating but the Acura TL type S is a faster sedan that also outhandles the IS350
