where's the confusion?
those little holes in the seats = ventilated.
when you fart, and don't feel the explosion, you know you got ventilated seats.

I disagree. The ventilated seats do add subtle comfort.

Just drove from LA-->Vegas-->LA (big ol' needle in Barstow (or was it Baker) read 108 degrees). Had the vent seats on and there is a subtle level of comfort given. It wouldn't be a deal breaker to get the car w/o it, but it is a nice feature.

LMAO! By this logic, does this mean that your butt has a nitrous purge valve?

I agree with all regarding the ventilated seats, they are noisy and don't do a helluva lot, that said, I do not understand why Lexus could not just extend a cold/heated air vent under the seat, since the fan sucks air from under the seat. By the way, those seats are so tightly packed that if you ever drop a quarter or a valuable document like your registration between the seat and the console, you can bet your sweet bippy, you'll never find either again.

Hahaha, I have to admit myself that when I do have to break wind, I will quickly blow the ventilation at high speed to dissipate it faster.

Actually living here in Minnesota, I really enjoy the heated seats. But, If I had my choice I would prefer the leather seats of my 99 GS300 without the vents in it. They were more comfortable and looked at lot better also. The vented seats appear cheaper.

Cold air is denser so it makes sense to draw air from under the seat...

When temps are 113 outside and 125+ inside after being parked in the sun, you are lucky to have cold air coming out of the vents.

I always saw the ventilated seats a negative when it comes to breaking wind. All it does is blow it up towards your face faster.

I can't believe where this thread has gone.. From ventilated seats to farts.

I am in complete agreement with you all, the ventilated seats are noisy and worthless. On this board 2thfixr said an interesting quote and I can't help but to think of it everytime I get in my GS.

This is true of the ventilated seats.

BTW, the carbon filter (activated by button) does a great job in clearing farts. It's my wifes favorite feature.

I love them. After having them on my 06, I wouldn't buy a car without them. I'm surprised to learn that it's only a fan and not AC. Feels quite cool to the touch and helps keep my my boys nice and comfy going down the road.

Ha Ha . Make sure you wear boxers.

Since the AC is most likely on when you use the ventilated seats, you are blowing cold air up. Definitely better than hot, dead air in between. Great feature.
