^ Because TTs are not bulletproof, and Lexus is known for reliability. I know several people that still own their original 2LS or 3ES, can't say the same for the TT MkIV Supra . . .

+1 to the 535i post. No doubt in my mind that Bmw underrated this motor, 300 was a nice round #, but it prolly is more like 320-325 . . .

Maybe it's more accurate to say that the GS is the most powerful NA V6 in class . . .

The V6 Has More Horsepower, And The V8 Has Alot More Torque. On An Open Highway I Want The Torque For Passing. Horsepower Is A Top Speed Thing, Torque Is A Traslation Of How Much Pull The Car Gives. Ask Asny Racer Or Track Guy, Torque Is Where Its At. In Racing A Motor That As Much Torque As Hp Is Called A Square Motor, Its Always The Most Desireable. Too Much Torque And Not Enough Hp, Well Just A Pick Up Truck Driver What It Feels Like. It Got Some Good Off The Line But Is Worth SQUAT After 3000 Rpm

By The Way Bmw's Are Overpriced,unreliable, And Ugly Sometimes. The Japanese Get More Reliable, And The Germans Give You Free Service. I Dont Want To Be Tight With My Service Rep At The Dealer. I Have Friends And Associates Who Drive Benz's,bmr;s,audis, Mind Fit And Finish Impressive, So Is The Amount Of Time And Money It Requires To Own And Opperate One Of These Cars. The German Vars Will Never Leave Stranded In A Parking Lot Like A Piece Of Crap Ameriacn Car Will, But You Will Be Stuck At The Dealer Alot. Its Not Worth It, Especially For Us Tuners Who Dont Leave Our Cars Stock. A Nice Gs With The Dubs And A Body Kit Lokks Way Better Than A New 5 Series. (the Germans Are Slipping...especially Benzand Audi

You want horsepower for passing on highway...

to change up the subject a little:
MB E550 (383hp <==this is SICK)
blows away new
GS460 (340 <==WEAK!!!) &
Bmw 550i (360hp <==decent)...
I think Lexus really needs to step up the new V8 GS...

E550 383/5.5 = 69.6 hp/liter
550i 360/4.8 = 75.0 hp/liter
GS460 346/4.6 = 75.2 hp/liter

The V8 from Lexus is actually the "sickest" of all and if they were to increase displacement while maintaining the power/displacement ratio, a 432hp 5.5L V8 would blow the E550 away.
