Default What do you guys think about a vent visor for your GS?

I just found this vent visor in another thread and thought it may have some merit. What do you think?

i like em on cars with really tinted windows (15%-30%) and black exterior cars. i dont think they'd look right on a light color or a GFM car like mine. IMHO.

are else i'd probably already have them!

What other thread? I was thinking about it, but it’s a bit too pricey. I think you were referring to my thread @ ES forum , I used to have one that was externally taped like this until I lost it in a car wash (it was on my black Altima SE with a tint). Replaced with Weathertech (great!), but it’s not the style for Lexus. I've seen a lot of these on RL and TL lately, and it looks very sharp. I'm actually surprised this is not so common among 3GS drivers in here who like to pimp up their exterior appearance.

Yeah your right about that thread, but I knew you'd show up here . Thought the vent visor may have some benefits like driving in snowing weather, but want do I know about snow I live in Southern Cal where the only snow I see is between channels on the TV. But all that’s going to change soon as my wife has new job in Spokane Wa. and they do get snow maybe not has much as NJ. Do they make snow chains for 275/30 20’s LOL. Yeah I thought it would be a cool ad on for the GS and it would look slick with future tinted windows.

I think the vent visors are great. You can crack your windows a bit during rain and no problems. Then in summer, you can crack them fruther than you normally would without them. That picture posted in beginning of this post, that photo is GS WITH the visor on? Can barely see it.

If these are the same quality as those for other cars, its not worth the money. You crack open the window while its raining and rain will still get in from the lower front of the glass.
And besides, most people use A/C. So why have the window open? If you want sunshine, then chances are you'll have more than just a crack open.

I'm not a fan of them. They used to be on nearly every car back in the late 80's early 90's. I just grew tired of them.

Hail... I remember them way back in the 50's and 60's. The air conditioning has rendered them obsolete.

The manufacturer spends millions in trying to attain as good an aerodynamic profile as possible/practicable in order to gain a bit of high speed stability, better fuel milage and wind noise isolation and here comes someone paying to add appendages that make all the work and investment redundant

Oh well, to each his own!

I like it a lot and looks great but too expensive.
