Welcome to ClubLexus, rjacket, and thanks for pointing that out. Good to see the GS is being updated with a standard mp3 aux input, probably in the center console. It's about time.

BTW, the press release PDF has finally received corrections regarding engine size and rpm etc.

Lexus is an idiot if they put an aux port for an ipod in the glove box and NOT give us conrtols to it. how are we supposed to skip tracks and etc. I hope they stuck on in the center box at least.

you can control it via steering wheel buttons and center console, however, i much prefer it in the glove box.

My impressions of the changes;

Steering wheel looks like it is from the ES. The finishing quality where the leather and wood meet may be neater and tidier and the curves also help in that regard, but on the ES loaner I have the buttons feel cheap and that's what it seems is on the new GS steering wheel. The ES steering wheel buttons are soft touch membranes, almost like you get on a microwave oven but with more travel. Not a luxurious feeling at all and you are reminded of it everytime you drive.

Door mirror - definitely nicer but from the photos I have seen, they do not match the car's overall design. Maybe will look different in person.

Shift gate surround - again definitely much nicer. The existing one is somewhat an anomaly when you see the LS version, but I'd like to sit inside and see how that aluminium works. I'd have prefered if they had just done it like the LS ie a fuller wood surround.

Moved trunk and fuel release out - naturally a good idea. Apparently they've moved some interior lighting control in there (maybe the on off door control?)

8 gears on the GS460 - seems a bit excessive. How would you manually shift that? They may as well have gone with cvt and put in psuedo shifting.

Nice to have ultraviolet and infrared windows all round.

Seems they've taken some things away to offset cost increases on the GS350 eg brakes

Yes, the press release has been corrected some, but if you do the math on the engine specs, the bore (3.58 inches) and stroke (3.25 inches) listed works out to be 4.3 liters, not 4.6.

Actually my '07 gauge is like that for the km/h lettering. I guess that was one minor change on '07 that no one noticed untill now.

If so, I don't think it's the LF-Sh, the grille, & the shape of that one is different from this I think . . .
