Does anyone really like this combination of black leather and cherry brown wood?

And on this one, to me the dash seems too dark to go with the light leather. And the brown wood and chrome trim in the center stack just all clash.

I'd rate this the least coherent (ugly) Lexus interior ever.

Still trying to understand the exterior changes...

New grille with wider side bars and chrome? To me this just diminishes the inner lights which were a distinguishing characteristic!

The new extended bottom front spoiler edge to me just makes the front look taller and bulkier and makes the car look heavy.

Here's another thing I don't get, more of an LS issue than GS I guess...

The GS460 has AVS standard. You can't get it for the flagship LS460 and it's only an option on the LS460L.

And the active stabilizer on the GS is a $3000 option.

The GS460 has 18" rims (so the specs say) but there's two 18" rim options for $1375 - does that mean there's 3 different 18" rim styles?

There has been a spider G and tourmaline 18 inch for the 3gs all along, they are not factory options, but rather port options.

Bitkahuna- unfortunately those pictures just have a weird affect. The black leather is still available with only the dark purple trim and the cashmere dash is dark brown, not black.

That same picture has been on the website since '06 and I have brought it up a few times because I feel like black would actually look better with cashmere than the brown, but yeah...not actually a production deal.

But the specs say it COMES with 18" rims (included in the price), PLUS there's 2 $1375 optional 18" rim choices, so doesn't that make 3 choices?

Everything about this car has been such a let down, which I hate admitting because aesthetically it is my favorite Lexus sedan, ever. I think it's absolutely beautiful.

- Car came out in 2006 with the least powerful engines in it's class

- Squeaks and rattles like all hell

- Terrible/artificial driving experience and power steering

- Overall, an ugly interior color pallet IMO

- 2007 rolls around and we get the GS 350 which has more power than the 430, which is now only special order and basically dead

- 2008 hits and we get a DETUNED version of the 4.6L V8. It makes 342 hp, once again, less than every other major competitor except for the Infiniti M45. 2008 also comes with one of the most minor refreshes in Lexus history...poor job again.

- As of lately, seems like the squeaks and rattles are ever present and it's just about to get cold...oh great

- No sports package when every other competing sedan offers one

- Dismal sales numbers

- ...and to top it all off they did a poor job of updating the website with the new stuff for '08. Really, they couldn't go out and take a few new pictures? Photoshopping all the ones from 2006-2007 was the best idea? How are you going to advertise a car as "new" when all of the pictures of it are OLD? People won't even know the difference.

Does anyone at Lexus care about this car?

I was hoping the gs460 would have its own distinct wheel so people can tell it apart. The gs460 wheel is fugly and i think it will be the summer tire wheel option on the 350 wheel . Those 7 spoke 17s are not that nice either. Why is it so hard to make a nice wheel ???

GS 300, 350, 430, and 460.

The only car I am remotely pleased with is the 450h.

No, get a G2 GS and wait for the G4. Based on all the posts I have read in this thread, as well as my own impressions of the G3 GS, Lexus can go ahead and put a fork in this turkey.

Lexus is getting the same product planning disease that Benz has had for years (and is starting to overcome), i.e., a slow, lazy evolution of the previous model's design, which is just not going to cut it. The G2 GS really raised the bar when it came out in 1998. I remember considering the E-class and the 5 series, but the GS was just a better car for the money. That simply isn't true anymore.

Lexus needs to stop playing it safe and get out there with something really different in terms of design and technology. Hybrid Luxury? Who cares.
