Wow, why such disrespect for the ES by GS owners ? Based upon the sales figures, I'd say Lexus knows exactly what it's doing (giggling all the way to the bank). People, for the record, if it wasn't for the success of the ES & RX, Lexus would not have the financial & political clout to toy with things like the ISF, GSF, LFA, etc. GS sales alone wouldn't justify a future GSF or even a GS460, you need cash cows like the ES to offset R&D costs. FWIW, I wouldn't buy a ES (just not my cup of tea), but I hope Lexus keeps building & selling a boatload of 'em so that they can build the Lexus that I would buy. . .

My feelings about the ES are personal, given all of the problems (some of which were serious) I had with the last one. I don't remember my 2000 having many problems. I actually really liked that car. But that was a lease/return. The one and only time I leased.

Who would've known GS owners were so cocky? Even if it is RWD, it's still a crap-handler, despite being less smooth and not as quiet as the ES. The **** supposedly helps, but I've never driven one with it.
And now with its 460 iteration, Lexus obviously does not give a crap about its "performance" offering.

"The 2007 Lexus GS 350 is a joy to drive, thanks to its commendable blend of luxury, power and sporty handling. The V6 engine provides more than enough power for daily commuting and spirited jaunts, and the cabin remains blissfully silent. A rigid body and solid chassis provide confidence during cornering."
And I'm confused as to why you think Lexus no longer cares about performance w/the 460, because of the 340HP? Guess what, the 550i has 20 LESS than the E550, does that mean Bimmer doesn't care too? Not to mention the A6 with 350hp.
