It's sad when I know more about the 08' GS than a salesperson. I got my new wheels put on today so I casually asked about the 08' GS. He said that the car will be unchanged except for different colored wheels. You would think that a car salesman would do some research before opening his pie-hole and making statements like that.

I went down to the dealer this weekend to ask about the GS460, they said it's coming out summer of 2008 and he claimed he worked for lexus for 15 years.

He just lost himself a customer.

Truly sad, though not surprising. When we picked up our GS in Jan of this year, you should have seen the look in my salesman's face when I asked about activating Lexus Link. He had no idea how to do it, but that wasn't even the big issue...

He didn't even know the car had Lexus Link!

That's why I like my salesperson, he honestly says "I don't know but I'll find out" when he doesn't know.

For others who feed me BS answers, I don't buy anything from them.

Just to echo the dumb sales comments, here are a few I got during my looking and buying experience

GS 350 is only available in AWD
ML sound system is really no better
Just run mid-grade gas, premium does not help the engine
Ignore the break in period

The sales guy who deliverd my car to me spent all of 2 minutes going over the car's features. No suprise, since he spends most of his time (seriously most) sitting on the file cabinet behind the receptionist's desk swinging his legs like a 3 year old. Very professional.

I agree with EyeKutr in that GS350 AWD is only available in AWD... As for the others, here's what I think:
ML sound system sounds no better IF you listen to AM/FM and MP3/iPod. However, it's definitely better if you have a better source, i.e. DVD-A.

Premium doesn't "help" the engine, but it does give you more power. The anti-knock sensor will adjust to non-premium gas and you'll lose a few hp and some MPG but it DOES run.

As far as the break-in period, ignore it if you are buying a used car. Secondly, there are few people who believe that you should drive the car as hard as you can during the break-in period so...

But overall I think that guy's just full of crap
