Had XM for four days in a rental, now I hate my Sirius
Man, XM has way better electronic/dance stations than Sirius... it just doesn't even compare. I don't know how many of you like that type of music but I am really upset I made a last minute decision to change my order from XM to sirius. Oh well, only 10 more months with the car... then I will get my IS-F with XM. Does anyone want to trade in the meantime
Oh yeah, XM barely cut out compared to Sirius. On the garden state pkwy Sirius (in my old BMW) would cut out under every overpass. XM in the impala rental I had only cut out once from the overpasses.

XM and Sirius are in the process of merging. You may be surprised about programming changes in the coming future.

I've heard the electronic/dance stations are better on XM. Boombox 34's programming on Sirius has fallen off a cliff in the last few weeks. With the exception of DJ Icey's show, Boombox 34 sucks. I got Sirius because of Howard Stern, but he's mailing it in. The Stern show is almost unlistenable now. Time for XM!

XM has earth-based repeater stations that significantly help it maintain a superior
signal strength in weaker areas over Sirius, which may be why you saw less drop-outs
on XM. Just a SWAG...
I have both systems: the Mercedes has Sirius; my home (Directv), garage (Inno unit), Expedition
and Lexus all have XM. I like them both for different reasons... I think the merger will
bring about a very happy end-result for all, if it goes through.... we'll see....

Out here in Northern California,my Sirius would not cut out @ an underpass unless I am in stop-n-go traffic,at freeway speeds,no problems at all.I have 4 subs from in-dash units to portable/recordable ones and none has given me any problems with reception.
I can't speak on XM programming,to each his own,I was upset @Sirius for losing the remix62 channel at the end of '05,that was a great channel for club music.Since then,I mostly ignored the dance channels and stuck with 22,8,106,and 100(Sirius subscribers know what I mean).
I would be looking foward to getting XM Navtraffic if the merger goes through,I really don't like the traffic channels we have, not updated as frequently as needed.
Sorry Sirius disappoints you, good luck with XM.

Still interested in trading?
I will consider trading with you. I have an XM unit in my 2007 GS350 and I would prefer Sirius. Send me a note if you're still interested and we'll find a way to work out the details.
