Synthetic oil?
Any one use synthetic oil in their 430? Can you switch from conventional to synthetic easily? I have read alot about the benefits and am considering switching.
Thanks.

'06 GS430 and Mobil 1
I bought my GS (my first Lexus) about four months ago with 12,000 miles and today performed the 15,000 mile service myself. As an owner of 10+ previous Toyota's, the GS is very Toyota-like, very easy to work on.
My car is a Lexus certified vehicle and has complete records for the 5,000 and 10,000 miles services performed. I understand that Lexus is big on using conventional oil but I have had great success using Mobil 1 for many years and wanted to use it in my GS too.
I'd guess you could say that I easily have 500,000 miles of Mobil 1 experience and have never had an engine issue. And I am confident that I never will using a synthetic oil.
Go for it.

at any time there are no issues.
Synthetic is great. I would only recommend not putting it in until after 5K to break in your engine with a thicker oil.
You will be fine. Probably get a smoother idle and you will be pleased. I use mobil1 and have always been pleased.
In case you want to save a few $$$ and not have your lexus dealer install the mobil1 like I did, go to walmart and get the mobil1 in the gallon jugs. This saves you a ton of $$. in stead of the purchasig at lexus like I did and they charged me $16.00/quart!!!!!!!
I later got them to refund me a good portion of that b/c of the rediculous markup.
